As we’re gearing up for the big Turkey day tomorrow, and as I’m finally finding a moment to stop and think a bit, I have to say that I am most grateful for the family time we’ve had together in the Berkshires (see last post here on our recent stay at the Cranwell).
In some respects, the title of this post is a bit of misnomer, since the Berkshires happened last month, and much has changed since then. Yet, in many other ways, it is particularly special right now, as it literally accounts for the last family trip we took together.
It’s hard being a parent, especially as that path is not very linear. My little guy has been not quite himself for most of November (think leakages from just about every orifice of his poor little body), and it’s definitely been weighing heavily on our entire family. For that very reason, it’s just nice to revisit these sunny, cheerful images... and relive those special vignettes, however fleeting, as we see our happy little man frolicking in full Autumn foliage, wearing the biggest smile imaginable on his face, and drinking in every new sight along his garden path with pure, gleeful delight.
It’s moments like these that you truly come to appreciate the joys of bringing a new life to this world, no matter the challenges posed, and realize that… yes, I am one lucky gal.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!!!
