#379 Elegant Expecting – Week 32 (Office Opulence)

Clearly I’m a bit behind, as I’ve already hit my 33-week mark! (Only four more weeks before the baby is considered full term!).

As I'm getting bigger, I find myself gravitating more and more towards all things black. Go figure! It’s simpler and keeps the silhouette better streamlined.

That said, black on black can be a bit boring (not to mention too heavy for this weather). This is where jackets and other accessories come into play. In fact, for this preggy lady, a jacket is a must!! (Particularly for the office, though the grueling summer heat is making things a bit tricky for this burgeoning belly).

I love this orange jacket and really need to get more mileage out of it (such a great find at my neighborhood Pixie Market!). It’s a fun color that’s not too over-the-top, and really, who could resist the leopard-print lining? These days, I’m all about the variation of cuts and prints for my blazers, so something a bit more ornate like animal print is a welcomed addition in my book.

Oh, and how fabulous is my new, eco-friendlhy, Timi & Leslie Charlie bag? It’s actually meant to be an all-purpose diaper bag… strictly for “glammy mummies,” as I like to call them :)

However, it’s chic and sizable nature means that I can start wearing it now! Why wait? It’s a great day-bag, and soon I’ll be able to pack all of my Nukie-essentials in there too!!!

It's not quite time yet to bust out all the Timi & Leslie baby paraphernalia, but it will be soon!

#367 Elegant Expecting – Week 30 (Napa Valley)

Friday afternoon wine tour with Extranomical. #Perfection

Happy Saturday from San Francisco! We’ve been here since Thursday for a friend’s wedding – which will take place this afternoon at Kohl Mansion and I can’t wait.

Here are some photos from our little wine tour of Napa Valley and Sonoma yesterday (a little sip here and there was fine for me!). It was the perfect afternoon for the tour, which we did with the lovely folks at Extranomical. Here we are at the Madonna Estate in Napa, I like their no-frills approach to wine. “If you like it, you like it – cut out all pretenses to wine” said our knowledgeable guide.

As I’m progressively getting bigger, I’ve been digging these shirtdresses lately (see a similar polka-dot version here) – tied either with a thin belt or a pretty little bow (I borrowed this one from a previous outfit). Patterns a must… and I’ve fully learned to embrace the bump at this point!!!

#366 Elegant Expecting – Week 29 – Cambridge Reunion

This past weekend, hubby and I drove up to Boston for my 10 year college reunion. I wasn’t able to make it to my 5-year, as that coincided with wedding planning and other work-related stress (2008 was a killer for the banking industry as you might recall – Bear and Lehman oh my!). As a result, I consciously made an effort to come to my 10 year.

Was it worth it you ask? Yes! I am definitely happy I went. It was truly remarkable to see how some things have changed amongst my classmates (one of them is now a Dean?! Whoa...), and how some things, invariably, remain the same. My weekend long interaction was not at all what I had expected it to be (but then again, I think my expectations might have been fanciful at best), but the experience certainly taught me and inspired me all the same.

These photos were taken on a hot Saturday afternoon, as we headed to the afternoon clam bake in Radcliffe Yard. The entire weekend was BAKINGLY HOT, but this mamma survived! (Just barely…).

Currently obsessed with Snake accessories! I got this snake bracelet from the Met store during my recent viewing of "Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity."

#364 Elegant Expecting – Week 28 – Tied to a Tee

Happy Friday! As I type, we are making our way up to Boston for my college reunion (thank goodness for MIFI!). I’ve started my 29^th week this Thursday, but I wanted to sneak in at least one post for my 28^th week. 28th week!!! Officially the start of the seventh month and the beginning of the third (and final!) trimester.

I’ve been feeling the pregnancy bow look recently. Particularly something in a contrasting color (I love this little red belt so much I’m even pairing it with some of my other dresses). The other day, a colleague of mine, who’s due at the end of June, remarked, “at this stage, you’re far better to wear something fitted, rather than anything too baggy and loose.” I think she may just have a point there!

Recently, I even went ahead and invested in a few pairs of shoes one size up (yes, the swelling does get that bad!). Believe me when I say that it’s a very necessary luxury.
