Well, Fashion week may be coming to a close, and it’s true that yours truly didn’t really get up to much this time around, unlike some previous fashion weeks pat… but it was still fun to attend a runway show (or two!) thanks to my darling friend New York a la Keiko! We go way back, as you can see here.
This is actually my second time attending the Art Hearts Fashion Runway (see post from last year at Lincoln Center). Wouldn’t you know it, now New York Fashion Week is taking on an entirely new turn and is being held all over the city as opposed to one strictly one locale (a concept that I can definitely get on-board with since hauling my butt to the UWS can be a bit of a pain at times, let’s not kid ourselves).
The event space was at the Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street), where I’ve actually previously attended a charity gala from way back when!!! (Post here on the Pink Agenda's Annual Spring Gala, circa 2012... vintage!!). Life is funny that way isn’t it.
I must admit… thought the runway show was interspersed with fun cocktail hour, artist receptions and the like, yours truly was completely wiped by 8pm (plus they were running late as you do in FASHUN). Sadly, this means that mamma went home just before the finale featuring L.A.M.B. w/Gwen Stefani (J’adore). But hey, at least home was just a few short blocks away. As I walked back, passing by all the pretty young things in the Lower East Side, it all seemed a bit surreal to me momentarily – “is this what happens at night as I’m putting my son to sleep?!”
The answer – absolutely – and it’s nice to be reminded of that every once in a blue moon, Fashion Week being the perfect opportunity!
