Hello my lovelies!
Well... as if time couldn't go by any faster, Easter is now just around the corner! I remember this time last year I was rejoicing the fact that Spring had finally hit Manhattan at last. Seriously, what took you so long?!
Though not particularly religious, Easter has always had a special meaning in this household, especially since Nuke baby was born (see posts from 2014, 2015, and 2016). It's just too darn adorable... with the baskets, the chickadees, the tulips and bows, the eggs, the bunnies... the WORKS!!!
Really, what's a girl to do.
As my oldest gets older, he is also getting crazy jazzed about all things Easter-related (I had to talk him out of getting a sign that said "egg hunt starts here" from Target just the other day.... in exchange for some marshmallow peeps of course).
Oh, and we didn't know it at the time, but yours truly got preggars with baby #2 right ON EASTER! How fecund!!! Talk about apropos.
So earlier this week I picked munchkin up from school and took him to the Naples Vanderbilt beach library (right across some of my favorite post-yoga joints like "Fit and Fuel" see full feature here), where they were hosting a fun little Easter gathering. We got to make and decorate our own Easter bag and then go egg hunting right in the backyard (this is some fancy library let me tell ya. Overlooking the waters!!). The best part was that all of the eggs were empty so it really doesn't matter how many you collect (didn't stop the little ones from going nuts).... and in the end every participant gets a little treat bag to go!!!! Okay so it's a bit of a "Utopian society" approach to egg hunting, but definitely more stress-free for mamma!
Note to New Yorkers.... perhaps we should foot the same approach back home? This would at least make the whole egg hunting process a bit less competitive and (often) tears-inducing. Just a suggestion.
So there you have it! There are so many more Easter activities coming up in Naples (this is our second time spending the season here, the last time was back in 2015 before Nuke baby started school). There are a few great ones at the Venetian Village, the Waterside Shops, Miramar Outlets, and Coconut Point, just off the top of my head -- so we are spoiled for choices!
Happy hunting!!!
