Happy Sunday!! In point of fact, today felt more like a Saturday, largely because tomorrow is Labor Day and everybody is still “off,” for the most part. That said, we have some exciting news to announce!!! This time around, it comes a bit later than the first time (okay okay MUCH later), largely because: (1) Mamma’s been busy; and (2) Mamma’s been really, really tired. They always say that the second time is different from the first, and boy were they spot-on! First time around I felt like I had all the time in the world to savor the moment, relish the anticipation, and style the bump. This time around, I feel like weeks go by with me hardly noticing, until my belly is getting so big that I realize that I can no longer pretend to be as mobile as I once was.
This photo was taken at around week 21, where I was just at the tail-end of my 5th months of pregnancy, and really starting to pop (for reference, here's a bump shot from week 21 last go-around circa 2013!). In fact, I believe it was shortly thereafter that I came to the realization of how I could no longer pretend to myself and think that I can get away with “looking normal-ish.” It was also a blissful time, where we had a house share with friends in Sag Harbor, and mamma got to do plenty of frolicking in the big ol’ pool, not to mention lots of BBQ’ing, perusing cute shops in the local villages, and hanging with sea-side with my munchkin.
Sigh, it’s tough to accept that Summer is officially over! (What with the onset of Labor Day and September, the beginning of school, and all that). Though truth be told, this mamma cannot WAIT to get her munchkin back on track in terms of school and a regular schedule (ever since summer camp wrapped up the first week of August things have been just short of chaotic on a daily basis).
Here’s to a crisp, beautiful fall and (hopefully) gliding through my last trimester of pregnancy triumphantly! More fashion-forward pregnancy styles to come on the blog, I promise!!!
