Greeting from Italia! I can't believe that it's Friday already (more importantly... Black Friday!), and yours truly had high-tailed for Milan on Monday.... seems like a lifetime ago.
How has the journey been you ask?
In a nutshell, simply magical (even though I still can't seem to shake this God forsake cold of mine) -- and you will hear me rave about our experiences in Milan and the lake area for weeks to come.
For now I just wanted to share with you my thoughts for Thanksgiving, which is arguably a day late. It also happens to be the first Thanksgiving we've spent away from home since 2011, when we were in South Africa together. For memory's sake, here's a look back at Thanksgiving last year, the year prior, and the year before that.
We spent the day quietly and intimately in a lovely modern design hotel called Casa sull'Albero on Lake Como. The setting was absolutely beautiful, quaint, and private, and couldn't have made for a better tete a tete opportunity between husband and wife. Sometimes life gets in the way, and sadly we don't make time for one another. So it was truly a unique and special experience to just slow down and honor the other person. In a sense, this entire trip has been about exactly that -- since hubs and I have not really had any real quality time to devote to each other since... well since forever! I realize as we embarked on our adventures in Italy that we've not traveled to Europe together since our fourth wedding anniversary trip in Barcelona circa 2012.
So there you have it... My own way of giving thanks. Life's been a crazy roller coaster ride of late, and something tells me that it's not going to slow down anytime soon. I'm super lucky to have him by my side, to love and to cherish -- and to raise our beautiful baby boy together.
