Aloha my lovelies! It’s been a heck of a week and now mamma is now truly exhausted and completely ready to embrace some quiet time… back with the fam on Long Island.
That’s right, we decided to bid adieu to the hectic city life – at least for the next three days, and unwind out East. The plan is to do all sorts of fun stuff, like visit the petting farm in the Hamptons and ride on vintage planes at the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Plus, there’s always the Long Island Children’s Museum where we like to spend our active mornings.
In the meantime however – I wanted to share with you some tidbits from the nice and peaceful walk I took yesterday on the High Line on the West Side. I’m so rarely over in this part of town that when I do make it across town, I literally feel like I’m on vacation.
I had plans to meet my girlfriends at Untitled, you see, the new restaurant at the new Whitney Museum between the High Line and the Hudson River (more on that another time!!), and had gotten there on the earlier side, so decided to make the most of my time spent. It was perfect actually, as I meandered up and down the meatpacking, indulged in a bit of shopping at Scoop NYC, and headed up to the High Line just around sunset. The entire affair must have taken no longer than 30-45 minutes, but it was enough to keep my eyes full and my mind sated. One could argue, even, that the whole experience got me straight in the mood for some country-style living!
