Every once in a while, mamma just needs to let loose and have a little bit of fun. It has been one of those busy weeks where yours truly cannot stop to even think, though I cannot complain – as both Rockshic and City Baby Dining received some great press via Tabelog and New York on My Mind (recently featured here).
That being said, it was just nice to kick back with my girl Sachiko, aka Cutie Patroller, in the East Village, enjoy a nice meal at Oiji, the two-week old Korean restaurant run by co-owners Brian and TK (pictured above), and simply have a good time. To be honest with you, I was expecting my night to be in-and-out, as it generally goes for a new parent. Set the clock, ready, set, go! So imagine my shock when I looked at my watch a the end of the night and it was nearly 1am! 1am!! I rarely ever stay out past 11pm, and by 1am, I’m generally lounging around in my PJs at home, blogging away and eating instant noodles (okay the last bit I try to avoid at all costs, but you know… accidents happen).
So how was the food, you ask? It was delectable, delicious, and delightful. The presentations were immaculate, the space was sleek , dark, and minimalist (all the rage these days) – and above all, I truly enjoyed the company. At the end of the day, I believe that what makes for a great night out, at any given point in time, is the space, the food, and the people (the people being the most important element of all!).
