Happy April 1st!!! (Aka April Fool’s Day).
For a change of pace and visuals, today’s post comes via Cape Town, South Africa. No no, yours truly is not there right now… rather, this is a walk down memory lane. You’ve seen my previous feature about safaris and “glamping” in South Africa (in fact, a reader recently reached out for Safari travel advice and boy did it bring back fond memories!).
Table Mountain, for those of you who are familiar, is probably one of the most beautiful, frequently visited, and wrote about tourist attractions in South Africa – and for good reason! It’s an easy visit (via cable car), or by climbing and/or abseiling for the more hearty and adventurous lot. However you find yourself on top of the mountain, you’re sure to soak in spectacular views that are bar none... and I mean from every vantage point.
So go for it, take a tour around, have a cup of coffee, enjoy an ice cream cone or two (okay you know where my mind is at), or better still, toast yourselves with a glass of bubbly up on top. I heard that sunset on the table is stunningly majestic but I unfortunately did not have the pleasure of viewing this first-hand (reason enough to return!).
If you do go, make sure that you purchase tickets on-line ahead of time so you can skip the long lines. We did precisely that, and believe me it made a significant difference in time (especially when you’re ultra jet-lagged and fresh off the plane).
