This morning, right before Nuke baby’s nap (oh did I mention that he's only doing one nap a day now? Sweeeet...), we headed to the Naples Zoo. I know that we’ve already featured it once here on Rockshic’s Gulfcoast Florida series, but it’s really such a little gem that warrants multiple visits and viewings!!!
We recently became members of the zoo so I believe that repeat visits are in order…
I mean – where else do you get to feed Ibis by the lake (an interesting experience for me personally, as I never realized how light and delicate each individual pecks were!! Btw those are some impressively long beaks on said birds!).
Speaking of long, I was also astounded by the sheer length (and color) of the giraffe’s tongue… almost the size of Rockshic Baby’s arm, and so incredibly dark!!! I've seen giraffes in the wild on African safaris, but never quite so up close and personal. Impressive.
Last but not least, where else can you literally roll out of bed, and find yourself feeding lettuce to a giant giraffe half an hour later?? (But not before stopping for a latte, of course – mamma's got needs!).
Happy Tuesday ladies and gents! In the words of Rihanna… and we got three more days ‘til Friday.
