It’s Christmas Eve, and this mamma is typing away yet again on a plane (thank goodness for in-flight wi-fi!). I’ve had to deal with a multi-hour delay, but just the very thought that I’ll be waking up on tomorrow… on Christmas day… surrounded by my entire family, celebrating Nuke Baby’s second Christmas, is rewarding in itself!
As a parent, you always strive to give the very best to your child. Just looking at how happy my little guy has been over the past month down here in Southwest Florida makes me realize that our snowbird tactic for the winter is paying off.
In fact, looking back on just the last three weeks alone, I realize what a fantastic place Florida is to spend the holidays (it’s no wonder Santa likes to come here!). We had the amazing access to an outdoor winter wonderland, meet Santa Clause himself at the Village of Venetian Bay (which, admittedly, didn’t go as well as last year’s encounter), and even heard a live tune or two at the outdoor gallery of the Waterside Shops (and yes, Frozen tunes were sung). I’d almost venture to say that this holiday season in the gulf-coast has been better than the last, and that is high praise! (See snippets of last year’s Christmas in Naples, including our first excursion at the Venetian and Christmas Eve boat trip to Sanibel).
All in all, I wouldn’t want it any other way, and I feel so very fortunate to be heading down to Florida yet again.
Merry Christmas all!!!
I wish you all nothing short of absolute joy, love, and fulfillment.
