Maple syrup crepe (Sirop d’érable pur) at Casse-Crêpe Breton, Quebec City -- amazing!!
Savoring a hot drink at the iconic <a href="http://www.fairmont.com/frontenac-quebec/" target="_blank" data-mce-href="http://www.fairmont.com/frontenac-quebec/"><em>Le Château Frontenac</em></a>, Quebec City
Terrine de foie gras... enough said! (Panache, Quebec City)
Today’s post is inspired by the Maple Pecan cookies that I’d bought for myself and my office-mates, courtesy of Jane Bakes, which disappeared in all but ten nano-seconds.
What can I say – people love maple, it would appear.
Meanwhile, all this speak about maple (and food!!) brings me back to memories of my three-year wedding anniversary in Montreal and Quebec City… which was out of control decadent and delicious. Crispy maple-syrup pie? Check. Fully-loaded poutine? Check. Breakfast of champions? Check check check. To eat like a Québécois is to basically abandon all concepts of dieting, no apologies necessary!
Is it any wonder that I relished every buttery, sugar-infused bite, and every calorie?
Let the photos speak for themselves…
Happy hump day!!!

Poutine, in all its glory.
Breakfast at Beautys, in Montreal -- the original Mile End!!!
Enjoying a nice apéritif at L'Astral, a rotating bar/resto in Quebec City!
Striking a pose in our hotel room, pre-dinner anniversaire. Gotta love those W hotel bathrooms! (The W Hotel, Montreal)
