When I was pregnant with the Nuke, I promised myself that I would try and breastfeed for as long as possible. Everything I’ve read about and heard of up until that point have uniformly pointed to the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and child.
Fast-forward more than eight months later after giving birth, and I am still going strong! (Shoulder pat). On the one hand, it's doing wonders for my skin and complexion (cheers to that nursing mum glow), but on the other hand, it is wreaking absolute havoc on my work schedule, not to mention my already limited threshold for multi-tasking.
“You’re a person who’s very goal-orientated,” said hubby, during my (many) moments of weakness and protestation over the difficulties of juggling nursing (and motherhood writ-large).
I’m not quite sure where he was going with that remark, but I’ll take that on-board as a positive. The truth is, I’ll do whatever is best for my child, and if that means persevering at the nursing game (recognizing that I am incredibly lucky to be able to produce milk at all), then so be it!
That was a very lengthy intro, by the way, to what I’m about to tell you, which is all about my new-found obsession with Cake Maternity and Nursing wear – brought to you by ways of Australia!). I tella ya, the Antipodeans really know how to rock it when it comes to baby, maternity and post-partum fashion (more on this later).
I’ve recently come across Cake Lingerie via research on-line, and absolutely love EVERYTHING. Not only do their products boast high quality, but they're also made to look and feel absolutely fantastic!!! Just check out some of their lace-detailed numbers here.
For me – this Cotton Candy seamless piece is absolutely timeless, and it is also super comfortable, so that I can even wear it interchangeably as a fitness bra! (Cue – post-partum yoga anyone?).
