When I was pregnant, I thought that I would meet new mommies like myself left front and center after my little pea was born.
Turns out, I was being a tad too optimistic on that front.
It’s not that there aren’t ton of cool mommies in New York City (there are). It’s more that my own capacity to multi-task and socialize has been vastly restricted ever since my Nukie arrived. This makes complete sense in the present, but was somehow an incomprehensible concept for me to grasp prior to his birth.
So it is with no surprise that I leapt at the chance to hang with Dream Sequins, a new mommy like myself, whose adorable Mr. Cuddles is around the same age as my baby! In fact, my little Nukie was born on Ollie Bear’s actual due date, and vice versa. Talk about kismet!
For the occasion, we went to a quaint little tea parlor in the West Village called Bosie (cute cute cute!). I’ve actually never been myself, but Dream Sequins managed to snag the Chef’s Royal Tea Service from Guilt City (total score!), and we were able to indulge in a fabulous selection of champagne, fresh scones, tea sandwiches, macarons, and Mille Crepe. Oh and did I mention tea? Yes, fabulous fabulous tea. (I opted for the white peach).
My personal favorites? Bacon maple macarons! I mean… you can’t go wrong. That, and the lavender – just do it.
The best part of it all was to be able to hang with a fellow mommy and chat about everything from fashion blogging, to baby entrepreneurial projects, to feeding routines. I can’t wait for our love bugs to get a bit older so they can run around together!
Oh, and note to self – must check out Gilt City, stat.
P.S. I highly recomend Bosie as an afternoon hang-out spot to catch up with friends (totally dude friendly too!).
