I’ve been meaning to do a feature on Tieks by Gavrieli for a long time. As a frequent traveler and fan of flats (see my recent exposé on carry-on packing tips), Tieks was already high on my lust list when I first discovered the brand via a friend. Nevermind the fact that I am now nearly eight month pregnant and they are serving me better than ever! In retrospect, I've taken my Tieks with me on multiple travel excursions, including Bermuda, Lisbon, and San Francisco!
So what makes Tieks so fabulously versatile? Well, to begin – they’re comfortable, stylish, and portable. I remember reading something along the lines of, “there’s nothing worse than wearing flats and still having sore feet – it’s like eating salad and still getting fat.” Amen! Wearing Tieks is pretty much the antithesis of that experience.
That is to say, putting on a pair of properly-made flats ought to be the equivalent of soaking your tired toes in a foot spa. You should simply be able to let out a sigh of relief and just go “ahhhh.” As a lover of heels, I’ve been there.
Plus, being heavily preggy (with swollen footies no less… which hubby so kindly dubs “bean foot”), Tieks are fast becoming my new bff!
The best part? Even without a crystal ball, I can foresee wearing these puppies well into my pregnancy and after the little Nukie arrives, particularly if I’m going to be on my feet a lot, traipsing all over Manhattan!
Oh, and did I mention that they come in the cutest little pouches (somewhat evocative of wetsuit material actually), that literally makes them the most travel-friendly shoes ever! Win.
