Bom dia Lisboa! Another gorgeous day – although admittedly a bit cooler than usual. Although with all of the walking around we’ve been doing in the city, I’m not so sure that’s a bad thing.
My girlfriend and I have been exploring this lovely and enchanting Lisbon (or Lisboa as the locals call it), since we both landed Friday morning. It’s been quite the whirlwind… replete with exploration of the old hilltop fortification of Castelo de Sao Jorge (with superlative views overlooking the city’s red rooftops to the river), trekking to the beautiful Museu Nacional do Azulejo (aka tile museum), meandering through the fantastical manueline cloisters of Monasterio de Belem (otherwise known as Jeronimos Monastery). Of course, all along we’d be keeping up with what we do best – shopping and eating! “Much like your norm,” hubs would say.
The weather has been brilliant during the day (particularly hot in the sun), though occasionally chilly and windy. So I thought it was best to layer up. After a long flight from JFK, my preggy feet has also been swelling up – so comfort-shoes and mega hydration is key!!!
Today we’re off to the wooded wonderland that is Sintra… less than an hour away from the city, get excited!
