Today marked a sort of breakthrough for my maternity wardrobe. Hubby just returned from Scotland… and he brought some maternity tights from Topshop for this little preggy lady (huzzah!). It all originated when I was out at dinner with a friend from London, who raved about Topshop’s great selection of maternity wear, and how “it is much cheaper in the UK.”
She was right.
We did some price comparisons on-line just for kicks, and on the whole, it’s about one-third more expensive in the U.S than the U.K. Ouch.
The result? So much more comfortable!!! I realize now that my bump is at a stage where the practice of “one-size bigger” just won’t fly across the board (at least not when it comes to leggings and tights). Now I can pair it up with some fun pieces, like my new leather jacket which I plan to rock all Spring long. Sigh... if only Spring will just properly arrive in New York!
