Anticipating this week to be a rather busy one, hubby and I decided to make tonight our date night. What better way to spend day night than at a hurricane charity at our favorite neighborhood gastro pub? The Wren, a relatively new gastropub on the Bowery (it opened up last December), is brought to you by the team behind Wilfie & Nell in the West Village. It generally serves up a combination of American and British comfort pub food, plus a list of awesome specialty cocktails served up by fashionista-mixologists downstairs.
Tonight, however, the Wren teams up with the chefs behind Maialino (Nick Anderer), Ai Fiori (PJ Calapa), and Brooklyn Star (Joaquin Baca) – and serves up some seriously good eats (even the agnostic hubby was a fan!)… all in the name of charity. Score!!! All proceeds of tonight’s “You Can’t Beat New York” go to benefit the folks in Breezy Point, Queens.
