Fresh off the plane last night from Brazil, I couldn’t resist hitting up Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) in my home town, which marked the kick-off of the 8-day New York fashion week (Sept. 6 to Sept. 13). Created by Anna Wintour of Vogue four years ago, the initiative was created to stimulate and inspire the fashion industry in NYC (and world-wide), by offering tons of free/fun events for fashionistas -- along with ample swag, celebrities, and of-course, boom boom music.
What I love most about FNO was the energy of the night, and the air of approachability it lent to fashion, which is not always approachable. It was also a fantastic opportunity for me to catch up with an old friend (last seen in Dubai two years ago!), who was at A Uno Tribeca. It was a great night – and jetlag couldn’t slow me down!
