Shirt: Zara | Skirt & Belt: Vintage | Shoes: Steve Madden (on sale!)
The Cutie Room, located on 5 Rivington street (right across the eponymous Freemans alley), happens to be one of my guilty pleasures in the hood. In fact, I may have mentioned it briefly in an earlier post about Spiritual America, a boutique right next door (thought quite different in style). I frequent this shop so much that for a while, I would literally receive the “haven’t seen you in a while” comment from the staff. This is the boutique which first introduced me to the wonderful world of Amanda Uprichard and Yumi Kim.
Here, I caught up with the owner of Cutie Room, and expressed my admiration of her outfit. It’s quite simple, defined by subtle but specific touches that render sophistication, sensitivity, and a touch of glamour (love the vintage belt!!!). I’ve been feeling the long, full-length, 60’s skirt as of late – particularly the billowy and sheer kind (last featured in this blog post). There is something about the longer hemlines, and the way they move with a woman’s silhouette, which makes the look both timeless and chic. I particularly love her classy pairing and the effortless way she threw the entire ensemble together. Bravo!
